Bu belge bir proforma faturadır; mali değeri yoktur ve muhasebe kaydına esas alınmaz. This is a proforma invoice; it has no fiscal value and is not an accounting document.

Why use it
A proforma invoice is not a sale — it is an offer document. It has no fiscal value and does not enter the accounts. But exporters are asked for one constantly: to open a letter of credit, for a customs pre-declaration, or to request advance payment.
The irritating part is that the other side usually does not read Turkish. Send a single-language document and the "what is this line" correspondence begins. This tool prints bilingually: every label carries its English underneath, so one copy serves both sides.
It does not lump VAT into one line. If line items carry different rates, each rate gets its own row — that is the only way the buyer and the accountant can check the figure.
How to use it
The tool runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
Steps
- Fill the Seller box with your own company details. They are remembered in this browser, so you only type them once.
- Fill the Buyer box with the other party.
- Enter a document number and date. The date is pre-filled with today.
- Pick a currency: TRY, USD, EUR or GBP.
- Enter the line items: description, quantity, unit, unit price, discount percentage and VAT rate.
- Press Print / PDF. In the browser's print dialog choose "Save as PDF".
The sheet you see on screen is the sheet that prints — there is no separate print template.
How the calculation works
For each line, in order: - **Gross** = quantity × unit price - **Discount amount** = gross × discount ÷ 100 - **Taxable amount** = gross − discount amount - **VAT** = taxable amount × VAT rate ÷ 100 - **Line total** = taxable amount + VAT In the document totals the taxable amounts are summed, while VAT is grouped **per rate**. The grand total is the sum of the taxable total and the VAT total. The discount is applied **before** VAT; that is the correct order in Türkiye. Adding VAT first and discounting afterwards produces a wrong taxable base. When the amount is written in words, the fractional part is read as two digits: 0.50 is "fifty kuruş", not "five".
Example
A proforma with two lines: 100 units × 25.00 with a 10% discount at 20% VAT, and 5 units × 400.00 with no discount at 10% VAT. - First line: gross 2,500.00 → discount 250.00 → taxable 2,250.00 → VAT 20% = 450.00 - Second line: gross 2,000.00 → taxable 2,000.00 → VAT 10% = 200.00 Document: subtotal 4,500.00 · discount 250.00 · taxable 4,250.00 · VAT 10% 200.00 · VAT 20% 450.00 · **total 4,900.00 TRY**.
Frequently asked
- Does a proforma invoice replace an official invoice?
- No. A proforma is an offer document; it has no fiscal value and is not an accounting record. When the sale happens an official invoice must still be issued. The printed output carries this notice in Turkish and English.
- Is what I type stored anywhere?
- Buyer details and line items are not saved at all; they disappear when you close the page. Only your own company details are remembered in this browser so you do not retype them, and they never reach a server.
- How do I get a PDF?
- Press Print, then in the browser's print dialog choose "Save as PDF" instead of a printer. We use no PDF library, which is why Turkish characters never break.
- Can I mix VAT rates in one document?
- Yes, each line has its own rate. The totals block shows VAT as a separate row per rate.
- Can I issue it in foreign currency?
- You can choose TRY, USD, EUR or GBP. The amount-in-words line is printed only for TRY; a "lira/kuruş" sentence would be wrong in another currency.
Next step
If you want to send the same lines as a quotation instead, the quotation tool uses the same engine and adds a validity date and payment terms.
